Well, if you don't know by now...
We are having another baby!!
The due date as of now is January 22nd, 2011. My first ultrasound is June 22nd but I don't forsee the date changing much. This was unexpected but we are very excited and happy! =) My first OB appointment was Monday and I love the new clinic we are going to. The nurse practioner we saw was so helpful and nice. And I have prescriptions for Zofran and Phenerghan tucked away for when I need them. I'm almost 6 weeks and I feel okay so far, but I didn't *really* start to feel sick with Madelyn until I was about 8 weeks. I am very....um..impatient...and snippy now-a-days, however.
Madelyn doesn't really understand yet, but I think she will be a great big sister. She says "baby" if you ask her what is in my tummy, and she lifts up my shirt to see, but I'm sure she doesn't understand. She has been so silly lately. She is SUCH a talker. OH and I think we will be potty-training soon. She is much more aware of dirty diapers and she knows that pee pee goes in the potty. I have put her on the potty a few times and she likes to sit there but she hasn't actually done anything yet. I would love for her to be potty trained before this new baby comes so I have a good 9 months to go, lol.

Easter 2010
Well we spent Easter in North Carolina with the Lutz's and my little godbaby, Oliver!! It was so fun but I will have to make another post about that. Anyway, we did Easter a day early for Madelyn.

The goods from the Easter bunny: She got crayons, two books, a new toothbrush and her "choo-choo" toothpaste, some M&Ms (her fave), and some new bath toys.

And here are her goooooooorgeous pics that were done by Amanda! I LOVE them!! She is also going to do her 18 month pics next week- so excited about that!!

There are more but these are some of my faves.
Sooo in Madelyn news, she is FINALLY WALKING as her primary means of transportation! And there is no stopping her now! She just went for her 18 month checkup and she weighed 24 pounds and was 31 inches tall. She had to get three shots, my poor baby, and she had to get her finger pricked. She didn't even cry for the finger but for the shots she screamed, but recovered quickly. Also...she is meeting all of her milestones, in fact, she has already met most of the two year milestones! I am so proud of my little girl! She is a little chatterbox, and she is just starting to say simple sentences. My favorite is when you walk into a room and she says hi to you by name. Like, "hi, dada!" or she will tell the water byebye when we get out the tub "bye bye wa-wa" its so cute! Her latest words are "Say-so" (Peso, our dog), "fwa-wa" (flower), "ah-cweam" (ice cream). She says the neighbor's dog's name "tay-tway" (Trey) and she told her BFF Carsyn HI the other day "hi sar-syn!" She is so smart.
Well there is so much to write about. I am going to organize all her milestones in another post, probably with her 18 month pics. I can't believe she is halfway to TWO!!!!

WALKING!
Just shy of 18 months and Madelyn has FINALLY started WALKING!! Unfortunately it seems like this was temporary as she has not walked for the past two days and has gone back to crawling. It is so frustrating because I know she can do it, she just doesn't want to!
In other news...Mitch and I have finally treated ourselves to an AMAZING new bed!! Its embarrassing to say how old our mattress was. We got the king size that I wanted. I heart having friends who own a furniture store! haha!
OK really this bed...its a beautiful thing. Now I'm ready to fix up our bedroom all pretty. I have plans...plans that involve paint. And new furniture. And power tools.

And WE'RE BACK!
Oh where have we gone?? Well...nowhere. I have just been incredibly busy and pushed this thing off on the back burner. So lets play the "what the heck have the Webb's been up to??" game!

1. I finally got my booty back in school! I started taking some online classes but after I realized that I hated the major I picked...I decided to go back to Southeastern for my one true love...BACTERIA! haha, I am majoring in microbiology and I heart it. I love being back in school. It has made my life a billion times busier and more stressful but that's okay. I only go on tuesdays and thursdays so its not too bad as far as having to commute to Hammond. And I kind of like the alone time on the drive as well. =)
2. It snowed about ohh....a billion times. We only went out to play in it once because Madelyn was sick. She loves the snow... and she loves to be outside in general. She throws a huge fit when it is time to go inside. Luckily now the weather is beautiful so we have been spending more time out!
3. Madelyn is STILL. NOT. WALKING. But, that's okay. I know she is perfectly capable of it but she is stubborn as a mule and she simply does not want to walk. We took her to be evaluated by a physical therapist and they said she is meeting all her milestones except this one. She just "skipped" it because there are milestones after walking that she has already met. Later that night...or maybe the next day she took about 4 steps on her own. She takes steps every now and then but only when she knows there is something she can catch herself on. She can also stand unassisted but will get mad if you try to make her do it. She has to do it herself. She just recently has discovered that she can go from sitting to standing without any help, but she doesn't do it often. I give up...she will walk when she decides she wants to. SOON would be nice since she's over 20lbs and that's not very fun to carry all over but....I am trying to be patient.
4. THE SAINTS WON THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5. Our air conditioner finally died. It was installed in 1976 when our house was built, so it was way past its time. 34 years!! Older than me! So this started a big snowball rolling. Ok, so we were considering moving to the Hammond area. We just had to make sure we would be able to do it financially and that included finishing our renovations on the house and seeing what it would appraise for. I know it will appraise for more than we bought it for (it was a foreclosure...and we have put a lot of work into it). OK so we figured...we had to take out a loan for the new A/C...might as well just take out what we need to finish the renovations! So right now we are in the process of refinancing. Most of the projects we have to do aren't a big deal, there is some painting, and changing out light fixtures, etc. The biggest things are getting the ceramic tile put down in the bathrooms and kitchen, tiling the countertops and backsplash in the kitchen, and the worst thing...........digging out the backyard. AHHH. Luckily our backyard is tiny so it shouldn't be TOO bad...but the ground comes up above the foundation which means when it rains alot, water gets into our bedroom. Sooo we have to find someone to dig the ground down below the foundation then we will probably have to re-sod. Bleh....not fun stuff.
6. Madelyn is a bookworm baby. She LOVES her books and has most of them memorized. There is one she loves called "Counting Kisses" about a baby getting kisses before she goes to bed...she knows the whole book. Kisses on the toes, and the knees, and chin, etc etc she knows which one is on each page. She amazes me every day with the stuff she knows. Its so amazing when you don't even think she is listening but she is picking up on EVERYTHING around her. She's also a chatterbox....she points out everything she knows the word for and sometimes she just babbles on and on and on. Its so cute.
7. I gave up soft drinks and fast food for Lent. I don't even miss it. And bonus: I've lost 11 pounds!! I have also been trying really hard to work out, even if its like 15 minutes a day. I'm proud of myself! Its a huge motivation to see changes on the scale!
8. I turned 24 on Feb 6th, mine and Mitch's one year wedding anniversary was on Feb 20th, and Maddy is now 17 months old. I think that's all the important dates...
9. I have been working on my fear of flying. I am deathly afraid of airplanes and airports and everything that goes along with it. Well, over Spring Break I am going to get my chance to be a big brave girl because......
10. I'M A NANNY!!!!!!!!

Little Oliver was born on March 15th. How precious is he?! So Maddy, Mitch, and I are flying up to NC over Spring Break to spend time with him and his new parents. I am SO excited and so happy for my BFF! And I'm happy to have a little vacay. =)
So there you go. It has taken me all day to write this, literally. I have had to stop and come back at least 6 times. I promise to update more often and if I don't, feel free to send me a friendly reminder. =) Tomorrow is EASTER PICTURES so look for those soon!!

Milestones
Madelyn is now almost 15 months. And let me just say...she is seriously the smartest baby ever. She understands EVERYthing. She is talking more and more, too. Here are some of her favorite things to say:
-"Go Wok!" (walk). She wants you to walk around with her all day long. She still isn't walking on her own yet.
-"OUT!" When she wants out of her high chair or she wants to go outside.
-"GO GO GO!" She says this alot in the car.
-"Meow Meow" everytime she sees a cat (or a small dog...lol)
-"Go, Dog!" when the dogs annoy her.
-She calls everything by name, especially B words. Ball, Baby (beebee), Block (bok), Toes (doooooh-s), Ears, Eyes (eee-s), Shoes (chooos), Cheese (sheeees), fish (sshhh), juice (doosh).
-"Baf!" When you ask her if she is ready for her bath, she crawls to the bathroom, and then she sits in front the door and says baf baf baf!
She can also identify ears, toes, eyes, nose, teefies, and hair.
She can tell what sounds some animals make. She will usually do bird (tee tee tee), cow (mooow), dog (wooh wooh). For duck she makes a growling sound, and I have no idea where she learned that.
I know I am missing a ton of things but those were the main things I wanted to highlight on. She is quickly going from my little squishy baby to a big girl toddler, and while it is fascinating and amazing to watch her grow, I do miss my little snuggly baby!!

Christmas 09
OK so after being reminded by about a million people, here is a new post! First I will go through our Christmas activities and then I will make a separate post about all the new things Madelyn is doing lately.

So on Christmas Eve, Mitch had to work, which was a huge bummer. The plan was for Madelyn and I to go to my dad's in Destrehan and then to my mom's in Ponchatoula. Well, we ended up having some pretty nasty weather so I didn't make it to Destrehan. I went a night early to my mom's, though, so we did get to celebrate there. We made a yummy dinner and had a nice, quiet evening. I could tell Maddy wasn't feeling too great, and she ended up running a fever that night before. When she woke up that morning her right eye was all crusty so I figured she was getting pink eye. It was Christmas eve so there wasn't much I could do, I just figured I'd take her in to the doctor after the holidays. Here are some pictures of Madelyn opening her Christmas presents from my mom and sister. Since she wasn't feeling well, I didn't get many pictures.

So after all was done, we headed back home so we could open Santa gifts in the morning- plus Mitch was coming home that morning! On the way home, Maddy fell asleep, but she kept waking up every 10 minutes or so, and she sounded like she was choking. I started to get a little worried and ended up swinging by the ambulance station to let Mitch check her out. He listened to her chest and looked at her and said we needed to go to the ER. So, off we went to the ER and Mitch met us there.
We got there and her poor eyes were SO swollen and crusty, and she was so congested. She had a fever of about 102. She looked so pathetic. So she got a chest x-ray and a flu swab, both which came back fine. The Dr diagnosed her with a sinus infection and bronchitis. Since we have NO 24hr pharmacy, he said he would give her a shot of antibiodics to help her start feeling better before we could get her rx filled. POOR BABY! That has to be one of the most painful shots. She screamed and screamed like I've never seen her scream before and she had a big bruise the next day. So sad! But, it did the trick because the next morning she woke up and looked much better! You won't be able to tell from the pictures but I swear it is an improvement.

She didn't get a whole lot from Santa because she also got her new crib (which I guess I should post a picture of too!) and I knew she was going to get a TON of stuff from our families. She loves her bouncy zebra. She sits on it and watches TV and bounces. Its so cute. Overall she had a good morning although she clearly was still not feeling well. Oh and here are my gifts from my wonderful husband. I LOVE them!!

Later that day, we went to Natchez to celebrate Christmas with the Webbs. When I said I knew she was going to get a ton of stuff....I really wasn't prepared for all the toys, books, and clothes that she got! It took us forever to open all her gifts!

Here is a pic of the whole pile.

Opening gifts at the Webb's is crazy. Its just a huge free for all. Wrapping paper and toys and bows and boxes and kids are everywhere. I love it!

Ok so now on to Christmas #3! The day after Christmas, we went down to Destrehan to visit with my dad since we missed the big family gathering. Madelyn got a Barbie Power Wheels 4 wheeler from my dad. It is the most hilarious sight to see her driving it.

She was totally being a ham.

Eyes are MUCH better as you can see!
Well that was our Christmas. Very laid back except for the ER visit!
Woops, forgot to add these pictures.

Maddy's new crib. Eventually all the furniture in her room will be white.

IPhone doesn't take very good pictures of lights...but here's our tree and our stockings. =)

holiday preparations
On Sunday I decided it was way past time for me to go through Madelyn's toys. I knew it had to be done soon because her toy corner in the living room also happens to be the Christmas tree corner. It wasn't long before I got overwhelmed (as you can see why)

but I did manage to weed through all the toys. I ended up putting about 3/4 of them aside to give away. Talk about a feeling of accomplishment!! After that, I had to put the remaining toys somewhere....so I decided to put them in her own room. This meant I had to organize all the stuff on her changing table so I could use the shelves to put her toys on.

She sat in her room and played so nicely while I was going through the rest of the house cleaning up. That is, until I heard a WAHHH! And went to see what the problem was.

How does she always seem the find the one spot that I did not think to baby-proof??
Well anyway, I managed to clean pretty much the entire house that day. We are officially ready for decorations!

And the Christmas tree corner is ready! Next blog I will include pictures of the tree- right now Maddy and I are going outside to watch Mitch put up the lights. =)
