So I FINALLY! caught Maddy rolling over on video. Almost missed it though! Here is me begging her to roll over for almost 2 minutes until she throws up at the end. Ignore the stupid cat in the background and the dog that walks in front the camera...I swear, I'm never alone....but even though she doesn't actually roll over in this one she gives some cute faces and babbles and such. Its just cute, ok?

And here she is FINALLY actually doing it! When I saw she was "in position" I had to use my ninja mommy skills with the camera and caught it! YEAH! Also I kind of let out an ear piercing squeal when she does it so you may want to turn your volume down...haha.

So tonight I decided I'm going to start easing her into falling asleep on her own. I fed her the last bottle of night, we read some books, and then I rocked her for a few minutes. Normally I rock her until she is unconscious and I KNOW she isn't going to wake up when I put her down. But I could tell she was sleepy but not asleep so I layed her in her crib and left with the door open just a little bit. She grunted and made noise for about 15 minutes but never cried. Then...silence! I went into her room to check on her and she was sleeping peacefully with her thumb in her mouth. Good girl!! I hope she can keep this up!!!!

Also I wanted to add all the new foods she has been trying! So far Madelyn likes veggies: (in order of preference) carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and squash; and fruits: (also in order of preference) bananas and pears. She has tried but does NOT like peas or peaches. She gets a small container of fruit with lunch and a big container of veggies with dinner. Sometimes at night if she is still hungry after her last bottle she has a little bit more fruit. She loves her food and is doing so well with eating from a spoon! Now if I can just get it to where she (or I) doesn't need to be hosed off after a feeding.....

Well I am headed off to bed, Maddy has been waking up early for some reason every morning which means I need to get to bed earlier at night. Its supposed to be cooooooooold tonight and possibly snow. We'll see! Going check the temp in Maddy's room and then bundle up in bed with my puppy!

Don't have much to write about. Today Mitch went back to work so it was just Maddy and me. We played outside for a lot of the day today because this weekend its supposed to be cold...I wanted to get as much sunshine as possible before then! Supposedly it is going to snow one night this weekend. Uuuuuuuuuuuuugh. As long as our power doesn't go out for a whole day again I guess we will be okay. We are ready for SPRING! Maddy has cute sleeveless outfits she wants to wear! Go away cold!!!!

Today was a better day. I guess since Maddy's teeth finally poked through that she felt better. She wanted to get up at 6:30am though!! I am NOT an early riser so thank goodness Mitch was here this morning to get up with her. She took a few extra naps today so I am suprised she went down at her normal time tonight, around 8pm. I'm just hoping she doesn't want another early morning tomorrow when Mitch is at work......

I tried to get a picture of her teeth today but do you know how hard it is to get a picture of baby teeth?!?!! I have about 30 pictures of baby tounge on my camera and no good pics of teeth! Darnit! I will have to try again when they come out some more.

I put some potato soup in the crockpot for dinner tonight, but unfortunately after 6 hours it still wasn't done enough for me, so I ended up making yummy italian chicken with mac n cheese instead. Well as I'm sure those of you with kids know, getting through an entire meal without interruption is a very rare occurance. And in this house....you snooze, you lose!

I was going to post some pictures that my neighbor took of Mitch and I before we got married the other day...but my stupid D Drive on my computer will not work!! I haven't even gotten to SEE them yet! I hate this stupid computer!

The weather has been so nice lately so we have been spending more time outside. Also I pulled out Maddy's "Hop 'N Pop" out of her closet the other day to see how she would fit in it. She LOVES it. Its perfect to take outside and let her enjoy the weather. She loves to watch cars go by and just look around and take everything in. I took this pic with my iPhone so you can't see it that well...but she was smilin so big!!

And I'll let this last picture sum up our past few days. TEETH. Yesterday I could feel them but couldn't see them. Today you can see them just starting to peek through. My poor baby is in PAIN. Even with Tylenol and Oragel she has been screaming off and on all day. Earlier I was outside talking to my neighbor and Mitch went in to put Maddy down for a nap because she started to get fussy. Well a few minutes later he comes out and yells for me because apparently Maddy was bleeding. I don't know if it was coming from her nose or her mouth but yeah...it was kind of scary! It stopped though and we haven't seen any more blood so I hope she is ok!

Well its 6:45 but feels like midnight. I'm tired. Maybe I'll go sneak off to bed and let Mitch have Maddy for the rest of the night...think that will work?!??

ITS OFFICIAL!

WE ARE MARRIED!! 2-20-09

We had a short ceremony at the Justice of the Peace to make things official. There is too much family drama to have a big wedding, but its okay with me. The most important thing is that I'm officially married to the love of my life. =)

We weren't going to take a honeymoon because I didn't want to leave Maddy for very long, and because it was kind of a spur of the moment deal...but we ended up leaving the baby with my sister for a night and spending the weekend in Biloxi at the Beau Rivage. We had a blast! And got some MUCH needed rest in THE most comfortable bed ever. But my favorite part was the tub. It was a deep soaking tub. I laid in there for like an hour and just soaked. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......I'm ready to go back! Or get one for my house...lol! I will post some pics from the minimoon tomorrow. Right now I need to go get my crockpot going for tomorrow and then get a shower before I crash. Night!

funny story of the day

Earlier, around 7 or so, I was rocking Maddy to sleep and she had a paci in her mouth, and when I put her down in her crib I couldn't find the darn thing. I wasn't going to turn on the light and look obviously so I just said screw it and went about my buisness.

So I cleaned up a little bit, uploaded some pics to myspace, did some dishes, blah blah blah...

So at 11 I am getting ready to take my shower. Took off my sweater and caught a glance in the mirror and there is something sticking out under my shirt. I'm like great! I just bought this bra and its already broken! I thought the underwire was sticking out or something. So I look down my shirt...

The missing paci is stuck in between my boobs.

For those who asked...

Its all messed up in the last pic since I had it up in a ponytail...you get the picture though. We finally had some money to play around with so I scheduled myself a hair appointment. Since I had the baby I've been feeling blah and I really needed to do some things for myself. I feel so much better now that my hair is done again! I got my highlights put back in, the cut isn't terribly different just cleaned up a little and thinned out some. I'm trying to let it grooooooow! I also got myself 3 new pairs of shoes, some new shirts, and some other stuff. Yay! Its amazing how much better I feel when I feel better about myself.

The past two days have been NUTS. I don't want to go into a whole lot of detail but yall be on the lookout for a BIG suprise announcement on Friday!!! =) For those of you who know, no putting any comments giving it away!!! lol!

Booboo and I had to go run an errand this morning and she was dressed up in yellow, so I had to make sure people knew she's a girl in some way, so I stuck a bow in her hair and it actually stayed!! I can't stand when people ask if she's a boy or a girl. ugh! I can't wait for her hair to grow some more so I can get her lots of cute bows and girly hair things! We also spent like $150 on baby clothes at Belk the other day. Having a girl is so much fun but those little outfits add up so quick! Anyway here are some pics of her in her bow. We are DEBT-FREEEEEE!!!!!

So we got our tax return in today and were able to pay off ALL of our credit card debt, my student loan, and whatever else...and paid bills for this month, and we still have $600 left over! I can't even begin to say what a weight is lifted off our shoulders! We still have our house note obviously and Mitch's truck note, but that is the ONLY debt we owe. YEAH!!! Now we have to be responsible adults and start saving. Blah!

Maddy's 4 month checkup was Monday. She weighs 15lbs 9oz (90th percentile) and is 26in long (95th percentile.) She also got 3 vaccinations. 2 needles and one oral. I think it hurt me more than her! I wanted to cry right along with her!! I wasn't there for her first shots so this was my first experience...it was horrible! I want to make her daddy take her for shots from now on...lol.

Also she is starting to fit in 6 month clothes. Which is actually sort of ok with me because I have some really cute 6 month stuff...lol. But sad because my baby is getting too big. I looked at her tiny little shirt from the hospital the other day and I can't believe that was 4 months ago already.

We have also started feeding her some veggies. She loves green beans! (see below!)

Oh the mess this child makes. I am going to have to start bathing her after every meal. Good thing she loves baths!

weekend

Oh my we had a busy weekend! Friday was my BIRTHDAY!! Happy birthday to me!! Mitch had a meeting to go to for work so he didn't get home until about 2, blah. But I got lots of awesome birthday presents!! He got me my IPHONE!! and a chi which I LOVE, and some pretty jewelry, and a cake! I was shocked! I couldn't believe I got everything I wanted!! THEN, later that night, we went out to eat at Dixie Springs. Unfortunately that didn't go so well as Maddy decided halfway through the meal it was time to go and screamed at the top of her lungs. Ahhh well. It was a nice night anyway.

Saturday Savannah and Lance came over because Savannah was going to get a tattoo at one of the shops down here. So we went over there when the place opened at 3....and we ended up waiting 4 hours for it to get done! It only took like 15 minutes to actually do it, too!! It came out very cute and she was so brave! So then we came back to the house and Amber and Matthew were here by that time, we grilled steaks and had dinner. It was suuuuuper yummy!! So then Lance and Savannah left and we put Maddy to bed, and Amber and I went to Blockbuster to get some movies. Only we all ended up falling asleep during the first one! lol! When did we get so old!

Sunday we got up and hung around for a little bit until Amber and Matthew left, then Mitch and I headed to Natchez to visit with his family. Mitch and I cooked ribs and they came out SO good. Anyway, we hung out, Maddy got passed around like a hot potato, and we ended up getting home pretty late.

Today my mom came up to visit and we had to take Maddy to her doctor appointment. She got her second set of shots....UGH it kills me to watch her get them!! She screamed and screamed poor baby. Oh and she weighs 15lbs 9oz, and is 26in long. 90th percentile for weight and 95th for height I believe. When we got home I gave her a little tylenol and she was ok, then I took a nap and my mom took care of Maddy for a little bit. I was exhausted!! Anyway, after I got up, I started laundry and literally...I did laundry ALL DAY. And I'm STILL not done. I did however wash all the sheets on the beds, including Maddy's crib, too. I HATE changing her sheets. I would rather change 234098234 poopy diapers than change her sheets.

Well anyway I have an episode of the Bachelor to watch. Going get in my PJs and RELAX!

whine whine whine!!

Oh the whining....


So that was pretty much my entire day yesterday. She isn't REALLY fussing...just WHINING!

She has been ok so far today. This morning before her nap she went on a whiny spree but when she woke up she was better. We went outside for a little bit and sat on the swing since it wasn't as cold. Her friend Carsyn came over to play. I can't wait until they can REALLY play. Maybe give their mommies a break! lol!

So then I earned my next mommy of the year award by scratching her on the chin with my fingernail. Someone is going to call CPS on me I swear. She screamed and screamed until she fell asleep for her next nap.

I'm breaking out the wine after she goes to bed tonight.

4 month pics!

4 months! Where did the time go!

Ok so right after I typed that last entry, Maddy fell out of her swing and hit her head on the floor. The swing wasn't even on, she was just sitting in it. I left her for a second to go get my food out of the microwave and heard a thump and then a scream, I run back over to the living room and she's laying sprawled out on the floor. =/ My poor baby!! I was so scared she was going to have a concussion or something! I couldn't get in touch with Mitch so I had to call my mom in Disney World to ask her what to do. She's fine though...she screamed for about 10 minutes, then fell asleep for 5 minutes, and when she woke up she was smiling and talking to me. Man did I feel like the greatest mom in the whole world....... I tell you people, she really doesn't want me to eat. I just wanted to get my food out of the microwave......

This weekend is going to be so busy. Its my birthday Friday, and Mitch has a meeting to go to for work. I think we are going to go out to dinner that night though. Saturday Aunt Savannah is coming over to go get a tattoo.....and I will bet you a million dollars Mitch is going to come home with a new one also. Then I think saturday night we are going out to dinner with his parents in Natchez? I think? Sunday...maybe Mitch will take over baby duty and let me sleep all day . That would be a GREAT birthday present!!! (HINT HINT) haha. I am trying really hard to plan a trip to Harrah's but its complicated with Mitch's work schedule, and my mom's work schedule, since she will probably have to babysit overnight for it. I need a casino night so bad.

Random stuff

So I have not taken Maddy's 4 month pics yet because well...she has been a grump all morning. She doesn't want to play with toys, she doesn't want me to hold her, she doesn't want to lay down, she doesn't want to sit up, she doesn't want to eat, she doesn't want to watch tv. She just wants to whine. So, she is sitting in her swing and whining because I do not know WHAT else to do with her. We can't go outside because it is too cold, and I can't take her anywhere because Mitch has the SUV and I refuse to put her in my shitty old car. So. We sit here and whine.

Anyway, I tried a new recipe last night for dinner. Its payday friday which means we are running low on groceries so I was looking for something simple and quick and found this recipe for Italian Chicken. It turned out SO FREAKING GOOD. I wish I would've made more so I had leftovers for today! And it was so simple and didn't take a lot of ingredients. My kind of recipe! lol! Anyway, here it is:

Italian Chicken

Ingredients:
4 (4 ounce) boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 cup Italian salad dressing
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
Minced fresh parsley

Directions:
Place chicken in a greased 9-in. square baking dish. Drizzle with salad dressing; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and salt if desired. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until chicken juices run clear. Sprinkle with parsley.

I changed it up a tiny bit and seasoned the chicken with lemon pepper and some garlic salt, then marinated in the dressing for an hour before cooking. Very very good and easy!

Also, I don't think that I would live without these. They are SO good and only take 6 minutes in the microwave to make. I don't know why they don't have the gumbo listed on the website but its so yummy. Perfect for days like today when Maddy barely gives me time to breathe much less make something for myself to eat.

My baby is 4 months old today!! Obligatory 4 month pics to come later! Right now I think I need to change a diaper. I need coffee..........
