holiday preparations

On Sunday I decided it was way past time for me to go through Madelyn's toys. I knew it had to be done soon because her toy corner in the living room also happens to be the Christmas tree corner. It wasn't long before I got overwhelmed (as you can see why)
but I did manage to weed through all the toys. I ended up putting about 3/4 of them aside to give away. Talk about a feeling of accomplishment!! After that, I had to put the remaining toys somewhere....so I decided to put them in her own room. This meant I had to organize all the stuff on her changing table so I could use the shelves to put her toys on.

She sat in her room and played so nicely while I was going through the rest of the house cleaning up. That is, until I heard a WAHHH! And went to see what the problem was.

How does she always seem the find the one spot that I did not think to baby-proof??

Well anyway, I managed to clean pretty much the entire house that day. We are officially ready for decorations!
And the Christmas tree corner is ready! Next blog I will include pictures of the tree- right now Maddy and I are going outside to watch Mitch put up the lights. =)

germs germs germs

The Webb home has been a house full of germs for the past month or two. It all started when Maddy started running fever the night of her birthday party. We went to the dr. when her fever got up to 102.5. He did a CBC and a flu swab (which was negative) and said that she probably just has a little virus. Well she has been running fever on and off ever since. About a week and a half ago, her fever shot up to 104. We went back to the dr. and she had double ear infections. She got some augmentin for it which caused havoc on her poor tummy- and gave her a terrible yeast infection. No one would call me in any diflucan for her, so I ended up taking her to the ER to get some. It is the ONLY thing that cures her yeast infections. She is so prone to them. I think she finally feels better and is starting to heal. Well in the middle of poor Maddy's sicknesses, I got strep. I haven't had it since I got my tonsils out when I was 17 but I knew the second I started getting a sore throat exactly what it was. I got a shot of penicillin and was much better in a few days. Now, Mitch has a sinus infection. AHHH I hate this part of fall/winter. I hope we have all paid our dues for this flu season and we will stay healthy for the remainder of the year! Sick babies + holidays + travel = no fun for anyone!!

Halloween festivities!

Wellllll for Halloween I had the bright idea to paint pumpkins instead of carving them! So Halloween eve we invited Carsyn and Amanda to come over and join us- surprisingly, neither Mitch or Amanda had a heart attack when the babies got paint all over the place. But I'm sure it was a close call! The paint was non-toxic...so I just let Maddy go at it. The next evening we went trick or treating around the block in Edgewood. We didn't stay out too long which was fine with us because Mitch lost his mind and bought a billion bags of candy so we were already stocked. So we came back to the house and grilled out with the neighbors. It was a fun night!!

Painting pumpkins- Maddy liked painting herself better.

Hattiesburg zoo and shopping trip!

Well this weekend I really wanted to take Maddy to the Audubon Zoo. Unfortunately I ended up with strep throat so that didn't look like it was going to happen. Then realized that VooDoo Fest was this weekend as well and I am not brave enough to bring a one year old to the city during a big event. On Sunday we got up and I felt okay so we decided to go to Hattiesburg and check out their zoo and maybe do a little shopping. Well, the zoo....sucked. It was lovely weather and there were no crowds but, they just don't compare to Audubon. But I LOVE the city! SO much shopping and SO many things to do. We went to Toys R Us to spend Maddy's gift card that she got from Sandy for her birthday, and she got a ball popper toy that she LOVES. Her daddy isn't so crazy about it because the balls go all over the place and you have to chase them down all the time. But Maddy is happy and that is all that matters, haha. Aside from the shopping we did, we got to eat at Olive Garden and it was DELISH! I highly recommend the 4 cheese mezzalunas. YUM! Madelyn was so well behaved throughout the whole trip despite not having a nap all day. However once we were on our way home, she had a meltdown and I had to sit in the back of the truck with her and feed her dinner. And I got to find out how uncomfortable the back of Mitch's new truck is.

Waiting to get on the zoo train- she was singing itsy bitsy spider =)

Ohh mommy a tiger!

Happy girl! She took her boots off but her outfit was super cute before that!

Wow that's a BIG meow!

Riding the carousel- she loved it!

At toys R us- Anyone want to get her the pink Caddy for Christmas? =)

And then we found this one....

And when we took her off she threw her first temper tantrum in a toy store!
