I really need to get caught up on this blog. School, especially math, is taking up a LOT of my time. Its not even hard stuff, its just so tedious having to do it once on paper and then type it all into the computer because its an online class.
Madelyn had her 9 month checkup at the doctor. They poked her toe for some blood to test her iron and lead levels, which were both fine. She only made a little face when they poked her, and she didn't cry. She is hitting all her milestones according to the pediatrician. So, we had a good checkup! Her next appointment is October 6th. That is two days after her FIRST BIRTHDAY!! Can you believe it??
Ok so here are some new things that Maddy is doing. First of all, she has decided that I am "meme." She says mama but not meaning me. When she is mad or frustrated she starts yelling "MEMEMEMEME!!!" I guess that is supposed to be like "MOMMY HELP!" haha. She's so cute. Second, she is really starting to imitate a lot! She will stick out her tounge if you do (which is HILARIOUS by the way), she will clap if you clap, and she will wave bye bye and say "babababa" if you tell her bye bye. This baby is SO smart! And third, she is on her way to walking. I think she will be walking by at least 11 months. Today she pulled herself up to standing on her exersaucer. That was the first time she pulled herself all the way on to her feet without me giving her something to hold on to. She did it completely on her own. =)
Also....I am SO EXCITED to share this news. My BFF is PREGNANT!! I am so beyond excited for her and her hubby. They have been trying for a while and now is the time I suppose!! I can't wait to spoil that baby rotten! I just hope they won't have to go to Japan!!
Ok so last weekend, we took an impromptu trip to the beach. We were planning on staying in Bay St. Louis. Little did I know that all the hotels there were not exactly up to our standards. After we got into our room, we realized that we couldn't stay there, and we went to the Holiday Inn in Gulfport instead. Oh well, lesson learned! Our room at the Holiday Inn was very, very nice though. They are definitely nicer than I remember them being! Mitch and I said that since we are used to staying at casino hotels, now we are spoiled and can't stay anywhere else. haha, I think that is true! So anyway, saturday we didn't end up going to the beach until about 6:30, but it turned out to be the perfect time because it had cooled down outside and the sun wasn't glaring right on us. So we played in the sand, and Maddy had a BLAST playing in the water. She loved sitting right at the edge and having the water wash over her toes. The next day we woke up and got IHOP for breakfast, then checked out the hotel and went down to the beach again. This time it was right in the middle of the day and we all got sunburned so badly, except for Maddy of course. The next two days were full of tylenol and aloe vera. It doesn't hurt anymore but now my skin is peeling all over which is kind of gross. And itchy. All in all it was a good weekend, minus the sunburns and my camera getting sand in it! I have no pictures from sunday because the telescoping lens on my camera is stuck from the sand in it. I need to get it cleaned. I got it to where it will open up, but you can hear the sand grating inside of it, and I'm pretty sure that's not good.
Here's some pics!
In her beach outfit on the way to the beach!
What do all the cool babies do when they first get to the beach? POOP, of course!
Just catchin some waves
