Beautiful Day!

Well today was GORGEOUS outside!!! Yesterday I took Maddy to swing at the park for a little bit because it was so pretty out. She loves to swing and would crack up when I would grab her feet and then let her go. I love to hear her laugh, it is contagious! You can't help but laugh along with her!

Today Maddy slept way late, which was totally okay with me! In fact, she slept so late that her naptime schedule was thrown off, so we were able to attend our first Storytime at the library! Maddy is still a little too young to participate but I think she likes the music and the people. After that we went with some friends and their little girls to the park to eat lunch and play. Its a good thing I had a baby girl because everyone around here has little girls! If I had a boy I don't think he'd have any friends! Maddy is still the baby of the bunch so she can't really "play" but she likes to swing and just be outside. And I like to have time with other ADULTS! I really hope this weather continues because it makes the days go by so much faster when you can actually get out and do things.

Also, I was finally able to attend my first mom's night out in three months! I missed mom's night out so much when I was sick. The past month or so has made me realize how crappy I really felt for the past year. I really didn't do much of anything except go back and forth to doctor's appointments and hospitals. I wanted to get out and socialize and meet new people in this town but I just always felt so blah. Now that I actually feel GOOD again I am so excited to finally be getting out and doing things. On that note, I had my post-surgery appointment with my GI doctor about a week or so ago. He walked in the room and I said, "You're my HERO!" I asked what he thought caused all this and he said "you got pregnant." HAHA I knew it! I don't think Maddy will ever get a sibling because pregnancy is not nice to me.

I also want to say CONGRATULATIONS to my friend Jenn and her fiance Ed! They got engaged! I'm so happy for yall and I can't wait for the wedding!!
So here's what you really came to read about: Maddy news! Well, she is getting her fourth bottom tooth in. This one wasn't so bad thank goodness. She is always go go go and the second she wakes up she is up on her feet. I don't think she is half awake sometimes but she pops up and is ready to go. She is also getting so stubborn. She loves to press all the keys on the keyboard on my laptop, and well...I don't want her to break anything, so I have to tell her no a million times. She is starting to throw mini temper tantrums I think when she gets told no when she wants something. She will cry and if I am holding her she will wriggle around till I put her down. I am starting early with her teaching her that NO means NO. Maybe this will make the toddler years a little easier to deal with? Ha. She has done well so far with using repetition as a means of discipline. If I have my laptop out and she pulls up on the table and starts pushing buttons, I move her away and tell her no, that is for mommy. And I do this about a bazillion times until she is aggravated and starts to cry or she gets distracted by something else. It is so wearing on the nerves but I think she needs to start learning this now. Of course there are plenty of times where I just close the darn thing because I don't have the patience. But, I try. I have to say that 10 months has been one of the more trying months we have had. She is much more opinionated and...well....just plain WHINY now. Some days I just whine along with her. I tell myself she will outgrow it but I know in the back of my mind this is just the beginning. Sigh. Also one of her new fave discoveries is drinking from a straw. I got her a cup with a straw in it and she has been doing pretty well with it. Oh there are so many things I want to say but then I start typing and forget them all. Ah well. It is late and I know yall are ready for pictures so here ya go.

Maddy in her first bubble bath! She loved it! I went nuts telling her not to eat the bubbles every 2 seconds but she had a blast. This actually happened on accident, apparently her shampoo bottle got knocked over and leaked into the tub, so when I turned on the water it was bubblepalooza. I love her faces in these pictures. I can almost hear the giggling when I look at them. =)Delilah was actually using my kid as a stool to get into Maddy's high chair to eat the leftover puffs in the seat. AHHH this dog is going to be the end of me.

This was one day after a bath, her hair was wet and she had a little bitty tiny ponytail!! =)

This was an early morning for us, we went with Amanda to a yard sale at 7am!! YES I was up and dressed that early, can you believe it! It was worth it though because I scored 4 pairs of jammies, a onesie, and an outfit all for THREE BUCKS! Yeah!! Oh and by the way, the clothes she is wearing in this picture are all size 18 months. We love when Ms. Amanda shrinks Carsyn's clothes!! haha!!

This was one morning playing in her exersaucer. I think she looks SO much like Mitch in this one.

Eating her brush. I LOVE those big blue eyes.

She's got the life.

Yesterday morning before we went to play on the swings. I don't know how I got a picture of her with that bow in her hair. It didn't last long.

My most favorite picture of all!! We were just relaxing out in the yard one afternoon and got the urge to play dress up. Amanda took this out in the yard in like 2 minutes. Yes my baby is a supermodel and Amanda is the best photographer ever! So here I go pimping her out! She is doing 1/2 off fall mini sessions and she is already extremely affordable so go check her out!

10 months pics and stats

I'm so late with this month's blog! Well, Madelyn is now 10 months old! Its so crazy how time flies!! She now weighs 23 lbs and is 30 inches long. She is wearing mostly 12 month clothes.

Ok, it is getting harder and harder each month to take her pictures. This time I couldn't get her to sit still for 5 seconds. So 95% of the pictures I got are of her trying to crawl away, pull up on the side rail of her crib, take her bow out of her hair, or crying for me to pick her up. AHH! How I miss the days where she would sit quietly and play toys.

Now THAT is more like it! haha

10 months has been a really interesting time so far. She is getting so opinionated. She has severe mommy-itis lately also. She always wants "memememe." If I am sitting on the couch trying to do school work, she crawls over and pulls on my leg or pants for me to pick her up. She is getting really good at pulling up on stuff. She is also started "crusing" very very carefully. She still is not crawling with belly off the floor but she can army crawl REALLY fast. She also gets up on her feet and hands and puts her booty up in the air while she is playing, but she doesn't move like that. Something else I wanted to mention: She can now "walk" while holding on to something. She can pull herself on to her winnie the pooh play table and walk it around the room. The other day I was on the phone and looked up and there she was just moving across the room. I was shocked! As much as I try to "practice" with her she always ends up doing things on her own when I'm not helping at all.

We have also been exploring new foods! She is getting so good at feeding herself. She eats baby crackers and cereals, and she gets a cup of "juice" which is really just water with a splash of apple juice once a day. She also loves yogurt melts. Another thing we are working on is gradually phasing out the bottle. I have been trying to do a bottle in the morning and at night only with formula in a sippy cup during the day. Soon I think I'm going to take away the nighttime bottle. She isn't really "attached" to bottles so I think this will go pretty smoothly, and she is doing much better with her sippy cups. Here's a few pictures of her feeding herself some broccoli. Yum! I especially love it when she puts it all in her hair!

The last picture is of Maddy and Pop from when we went visiting in Natchez last friday.

Today Maddy and I went swimming with Amanda and Maddy's bff Carsyn. The kiddie pool is perfect for her to splash in and she had a great time! Afterwards we went to Chilly Willy's which is a new orleans style snowball/snack place. I got a grasshopper snowball which Maddy shared with me and it was SO yummy! The best part is that they are opening a real restaurant with a bar and real food! I am SO excited!! A new place in McComb people!!!!! And they will have new orleans/southern food. Yeah!!

Well I will have to end this here because it is almost time to get Maddy ready for bed. We shall see if I feel like doing homework afterwards or if I just go to bed and catch up on my DVR. Haha...I think we all know what will happen!

Catching Up

Well this post won't have pictures because I'm at my mom's house. But I had to blog about a few things that have been happening!

First of all, Maddy is the proud new owner of THREE new teeth! She got her two front teeth in as well as one on the side. I am SO glad they have finally made their appearance. Unfortunately this has not seemed to help her schedule at all as I was hoping it would. She has decided that she doesn't need to nap anymore. She will sleep for about 30 minutes to an hour in the morning at about 10. Then she wants to stay awake for the rest of the day! This has made for a very exhausted mommy and late school work! Around 6pm she starts to get fussy and tired but if I let her go to bed then, she is back up at 8pm. Then there were a couple of nights last week when she randomly woke up in the middle of the night. Last night she was awake from 1:30-4am! I had to come spend the weekend at my mom's because Mitch was working this weekend and I needed to get school work done. Thankfully they were a big help and I even got a head start on work for next week!

Also, the Webbs have all been sick. Mitch got it first, then Maddy, then me. I am feeling better but still have a little bit of my cold lingering and I think the same goes for Maddy. She still has a little bit of a runny nose but otherwise is much better. Because of that and because of the weather, I think we both were getting a little cabin fever. Which is probably another reason we spent the weekend in Hammond.

Maddy is crawling like a madwoman these days. I look away for a second and she is GONE. We have had to break down and buy a baby gate because she has discovered the dog food and water bowls. And she can get in there way too fast. Luckily the baby gate has done the trick for that. Now if I can figure out how to stop her from getting in the computer cords or under the dining room table.

She has so much personality lately. My sister tried to put her down for a nap the other day at my house, and she started SCREAMING so she gave up and when she walked back out to the living room with her, Maddy actually laughed like she knew what was going on! She got out of her nap because she was screaming! That little skunk! Also she is becoming very headstrong. Today she kept trying to get the rocks on my mom's table and I kept telling her no and she did not like that one bit. I am trying to be consistent so she will learn but its hard when she makes that poor little pitiful face.

We are still working on standing up and "cruising" but I think she will get it pretty soon. She doesn't have very good balance yet, and her little feet are always so sweaty that they just slide on the wood floor. My house is always cold cold cold but her feet still sweat. Don't know what's up with that.

One thing I am looking forward to in the next couple of months is Madelyn's first birthday party! Soon I will be deciding on a date and I will begin ordering the supplies! I'm so excited!

Well I am going to try and get some rest and pray that Madelyn stays asleep throughout the night. I need some sleep!
