Mother's Day

Happy belated mother's day to all you mommies!! I hope everyone had a relaxing, stressfree day! Mitch had to work so Maddy and I hung out at home. I got a Circle E bird of paradise candle from Maddy, which I think I mentioned before. And from my hubby... I am getting a day at Harrah's!! Harrah's is having a mother's day all month special, for $250 you get to stay at the Harrah's Luxury hotel, $50 to Aveda, $100 to Besh, and a dozen chocolate covered strawberries. I can't WAIT!! I think we are going to book it for Memorial Day. I am SO SO SO excited about eating at Besh. We ate there for our engagement dinner. SO good. Plus I get to gamble haha and I loooooooove that!!

So anyway my refund check came in. The bank said they had to hold it for THIRTY DAYS. Well after complaining and stuff, they said they would only hold it for 10-14 days which is much more normal. BUT anyway I ended up getting my laptop and I LOVE IT! Unfortunately I am having some issues with school right now, nothing I can't handle although I will probably switch next semester or after summer classes. DeVry ended up being a LOT more expensive than I thought it would be and my financial aid isn't going to cover me full time, so I am going to have to come up with a lot of money out of pocket. So I am looking at other schools and realizing that DeVry is one of the most expensive ones. So we'll see what happens with that. I just want to be settled into something and not have to worry about all this extra stuff.

Well here is an interesting story from this week. This actually happened on mother's day. I woke up that morning, got Maddy out of bed, and then let Queso outside to go potty. Well when I opened the front door I heard birds. I mean birds were going NUTS in my front yard. I walked out to investigate and saw that there was a little baby bird in my driveway! Well of course in the process of all this, all three of my predators (cats) have ventured outside. Great. So I don't know what to do, I don't want to move the baby bird because I was afraid of getting attacked by all the other birds (I'm telling you, the birds were FREAKING. OUT.), so I ran all my cats inside so at least he was safe from them. Then he just hopped around the yard. So then I went inside so I could feed my baby her breakfast, and after that I went out to look for the bird again and I couldn't find him, but the birds weren't freaking out anymore so I don't know what happened. But yeah, I spent my mother's day morning chasing cats around the yard in a million degree weather to save a baby bird's life.

Anyway....its late and I'm tired. Here are some pics from the relay for life last week.

These were from before we left. She was being a silly goose. =)
